It's Super-Sub Fundraiser Time!
Time to begin planning for our annual sub sale fundraiser. The event includes selling, making and delivering the subs on Superbowl Sunday. Typically over 60 students participate, selling over 2,000 subs and earning over $10,000 for both students and the band backers’ organization. This effort has become a very popular community event with both Southington residents and the band community. Each student makes $2.00 per sub sold & donations are worth 50% to the students!
A sign-up form will be posted in the band hallway in December for students to sign-up for Group Sales. They should note which driver or kids they want to be paired with. Students can sell one, two, three or all four of the selling days.
We need 10-12 parent drivers for each day of group sales: Saturday, January 9th, Sunday January 10th, Saturday January 16th and Sunday January 17th.
We are also in need of 5-6 volunteers for each day to count money and reconcile order forms.
Individual Sales: Students may also sell subs on their own. Individual sales may start no earlier than 1/18/16. Order form and instructions will be posted on the ===>forms page<===.
Superbowl Sunday (February 7, 2016): Each student who sells subs must also make subs on Superbowl Sunday as well as deliver all subs sold. Subs will be made on Sunday, February 7th, 6:30am-11:00am.
We are also in need of additional volunteers to help in the planning of the event, set-up and day-of sub making. PLEASE SIGN UP VIA EMAIL BY Monday, 12/21 at email@example.com or at the December band backers meeting.
If you have any questions please contact committee co-chairs: Liz Chasse & Dave Pestillo at firstname.lastname@example.org

Band Backer Legacy Supporter Program: Once a Band Backer always a Band Backer
As someone who believes that a quality music program is something we need to preserve and continue to strengthen, what better community to reach out to then former Southington Band Backers and their families! You know first-hand what Southington's music program has done for your children. You know how lucky we are to have such a dedicated group of Music Educators in our town. You know that the Southington Band Backer organization's purpose is to strengthen and support the music programs in our schools. Your children may have moved on to bigger things but it's important to remember how they got there. With that spirit in mind we have a new opportunity for past Band Backers and their family's to continue to support and strengthen the Southington Music program for years to come. With an annual donation to the Southington Band Backers, a 501c3 charity, you will be listed as a Band Backer Legacy Supporter in the Music of the Knight Program Guide and receive 2 MOTK tickets as our thank you. You may choose from three Support levels. Bronze Level $100, Silver Level $200, and Gold Level $300. You know how important these programs are; please consider being a part of the sound for as long as you can. For more information or to pledge your support please contact Erik Semmel at email@example.com. Your charitable pledge of support will be billed to you automatically in July just before the marching band season begins.
Following the lead of many other organizations and teams at the high school we have designed a lawn sign. This sign will allow you, your family, and neighbors the ability to show their support for the Marching Band. Here is the design we have come up with:
These are two sided 18 X 24 inch signs and cost $20 each. If you are still looking to purchase one, contact Tisha and Eric Semmel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Did you (or your student) misplace forms? Never fear! All the forms are posted on the ===>forms page<=== as we we get them!
