brings together a wide variety of computer dealers into one location to
sell computer merchandise at discount prices. Admission proceeds help
defray costs for the facility, equipment rentals, advertising, show
production and staffing.

The Southington Marching Band program benefits from hosting a Cogan
Computer Fair in several ways:
We earn $1,000 per computer fair for the marching band program
We earn extra money from food/concession sales during the fair for the
marching band program, typically between $200-$300
We are able to provide a service to the community by offering a
location for people to purchase computer merchandise at discount prices
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The school system requires Band Backer volunteers to be present during the
hours of operation. This offers us the opportunity to sell food/concession
items (candy, coffee, soda, water, and other food items) during the fair to earn
extra money for the marching band program.
The time requirement for each computer fair is as follows:
Pre-event (1-2 hours during the week of the computer fair to purchase any
additional supplies ... this is usually handled by the coordinator)
Setup time (1-2 hours prior to the fair start time, usually handled by the
coordinator and/or volunteers)
Food/concession sales (the fair operates for 6 hours - several volunteers can
be used to work two-hour or three-hour shifts). The concession can be
run by two people (three if hot foods are sold.) Student band members are
encouraged the volunteer!
Cleanup time (30 minutes after the fair ends, usually handled by the
coordinator and volunteers)
Students who work at the concession will earn 5 points per hour.
