Band Camp is one of the best times of the year. Excitement is
generated for the upcoming competition season, there are no distractions, and we
can all focus on the task at hand - building one of the best marching bands in
the state!
As always, show up with a positive attitude, ready to go, and it should be a
lot of fun. Upperclassmen... make sure you clear your work schedules so you can
attend camp.
Important Items:
You must bring your completed
band contract and
health
status formon the first day of band camp. You can obtain a copy by clicking the

meet your team captains and learn more about important band
information for the upcoming season.
There are two important band

purchasing Guard Uniforms and dry cleaning Instrumental Uniforms.
Please note that payment is due by Band Camp. Payment must be
received in order to receive a uniform and perform in the show. The
second is the voluntary Meal Plan. Prior to
Saturday competitions and Friday evening football games Band Backer
volunteers serve a hot meal to all participants in the Meal Plan Program.
Membership dues of $300 which were reviewed at mini-band camp can also be paid
for those families that have not yet paid. Membership dues are due by

Here are some reminders to think about and take care of before band camp:
Everyone:
Your attendance at all sessions of camp is expected! Please inform Mr.
Shaw or Ms. Ossias if you will be absent for any sessions.
GET IN SHAPE! Marching Band/Color Guard is
a PHYSICAL activity. Get ready for the season. Walk, jog, swim, play ball ...
JUST DO IT. You can't learn to play, spin a flag, or move if you are
sitting around doing nothing.
Don't forget to bring water and sunscreen – the fields get very hot!
Dress comfortably - especially footwear
Car pool with a friend when possible to give your parents a break!
Musicians:
Now is the time to make sure you instrument is in good
working order! Don't wait until the week before band camp ... it probably
won't be ready in time if it needs a tune-up or repairs.
Make sure to have the necessary supplies for your
instrument (valve oil, reeds, cork grease, etc.)
Take a look at the music passed out at mini-band camp...
dust off that instrument and PLAY IT!
Don't Forget:
Water jugs (brings lots of H2O!)
Snacks
White tape (color guard)
Black gloves (color guard)
Running shoes
Tanktops/T-Shirts (NO LOW-CUTS!)
Shorts (NO JEAN SHORTS and NO SHORT-SHORTS!)
Sunglasses, hats, and visors
Sunscreen and Bug Spray
Extra pair of socks
Small memo pad (index card pad preferably) to use as a dot-book (this is
in addition to the dot-book provided to band members)
Clear page protectors (at least 50 sheets) for drill sheets and other info
Pencil
Lanyard for dot-book (a long piece of yarn works fine!)
Beach Towels
Beach Umbrellas are OK to bring (makes a comfortable shady spot to sit
under during breaks!)
DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR EQUIPMENT! (instrument(s); sticks; flags; rifles; sabers;
etc.)
Parents:
Please join us on Monday August 22th at 6:00 p.m. for the
